What is Holistic Physiotherapy?

When restoring health, it’s important to remember that nothing in the body occurs in isolation and healing requires an integrative approach that looks at the physical, psychological, and environmental factors. When treating the physical, I address movement patterns, muscle imbalances, tension patterns, mobility, and postural biomechanics.

For example, low back pain can result from a variety of factors, such as poor hip mobility, asymmetrical glute strength, and poor gait biomechanics. However, biomechanics are only part of the puzzle; other factors, such as stress, mental state, and past trauma, can exacerbate back pain. Additionally, lifestyle factors, such as poor sleep, an inflammatory diet, and lack of a mindfulness practice can also contribute to the problem. To truly improve health, all facets of health must be addressed.
