Pelvic pain

Pelvic pain

Pain in the pelvic region is common and unfortunately very under-diagnosed and under-treated. Sometimes women are even led to believe that pain in this region is normal and cannot be addressed.  Pain can be anywhere around the pelvis, bladder, pubic bone, urethra, perineum, groin, vulva or vagina, and can be either acute or chronic. It can be associated with intercourse or with the bladder filling. Sometimes it is the result of tissues and nerves becomes extremely sensitive to even light touch.

Unfortunately, not everyone in the medical field is aware of what conditions can be treated with pelvic floor physiotherapy and patients can wait a long time before getting treatment. I help diagnose and treat pelvic pain and dysfunction by using a combination of internal and external assessment and treatment, as well as an individualized home program.
